Our title sponsor continues our “Summer of Love” fest and takes us downtown to Motown with “Soulunique” and their R&B sweet dance music. They are making their debut at Friday After 5 but they are no stranger to Owensboro. In fact, Owensboro Police Chief, Art Elum is one of the members! SOULUNIQUE is a dance band comprised of musicians with very diverse musical influences, ranging from R&B, Soul, Funk, Blues, Rock and Gospel. SOULUNIQUE formed in the 1999, playing at special events, wedding receptions, private parties and clubs in Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky. Their song selection will take you through decades of musical memories as they perform your favorite tunes. They remix funky renditions of chart topping songs from old school to modern day. They specialize in R&B, Funk and Dance music. Their show features every great dance song you can remember from blues and soul to R&B funk and rock. Sweet! It’s a party courtesy of the people that make the “American Dream” come true, Jagoe Homes. Those left standing after the band’s first break can help us toast the sunset from their own front row seat on the river at 7:45pm. Then it all starts over again as V-Groove revs up the dance party until 10pm. Tonight’s Class PreUnion: Ohio County Class of 1977. Fun. Free. Friends. Friday After 5 is Where the Weekend Begins. WARNING: We cannot be responsible for sore feet Saturday morning from dancing all night to V-Groove. 6:30pm-10:00pm

He brings his talents to the Atmos Energy courtyard tonight as part of our “Summer of Love” season. Josh Merritt grew up with music. Tonight, his band sets our “Summer of Love” to his special brand of music. “I’ve always had a deep love for music since as long as I can remember, but even before that I can remember wanting to help people with and through emotion. I can remember when I was really young living with my mom and we had it really rough for a while. She would scoop me up and hold me when she was crying and she always said I made her feel better. Even as a child that touched me so deep. Enough that I truly believe that it became a mission in life for me, even that early. I believe that is why I love being a musician so much. There is literally no other tool I have found that is more effective in helping in the emotion of people. Whether it’s a jumpy song that makes people feel good, a commemorative song that gives respect, or a sad song that helps you remember and get it all out. There is nothing more special to me. ” Josh Merritt Band playing tonight on our newest venue, the Don Moore Party Pier! The river isn’t “over there” it’s RIGHT UNDER YOU! It’s a great place to dance and enjoy the fun summer night! One of the many amenities of the nearby Smothers Park is the new waterfall feature and the Signature Fountain, designed by the same team that created the Bellagio Fountains in Las Vegas. Don Moore Automotive team sponsors our biggest weekly party all season! It’s a party every Friday on “The Pier” and just like Friday After 5, it’s free. 8:00pm-11:30pm
