“V-Groove” matriculated by Kentucky Wesleyan College

Kentucky Wesleyan College welcomes their “Class of 2021” to Owensboro  with Motown Downtown! Since 1998, V-Groove has established itself as one of the premier bands in the Southeast/Midwest.  Their performances show fluency and versatility in the genres of roots music: blues, soul, R&B, funk, and  rock. V-Groove is hard to define due to this diversity. However, one thing is for sure…everything V-Groove does has energy and will make you move and have a good time. The band plays regularly at venues in their hometown of Louisville, KY and is making its sixth appearance at our award-winning Friday After 5 festival.  Named the best band in Louisville more than once by the readers of the LEO, you’ll hear why tonight.  It’s a dance/concert experience tonight on the Jagoe Homes Patio Stage. Our “Summer of Love” continues tonight and includes our “mile of music” up and down the award-winning Owensboro Riverfront. Thank you Kentucky Wesleyan College for tonight’s party!  Many members of the KWC coaching staff and players will be on hand tonight plus KWC will be bringing their new KWC mascot! Tonight’s Class PreUnions: Hancock County Class of 1972 and McLean County Class of 1998. Don’t miss any of the free fun! .  V-Groove plays on the patio from 6:30pm-10:00pm

Don Moore Party Pier webDon Moore Party on the Pier

We set the “Summer of Love” to music on the Party Pier Deuce ‘n Quarter.  with In 1959 the top of the line Buick was the new Electra. Borrowing from the styling’s of the Cadillac and the Oldsmobile, with chromed grill and fins, this car measured in at 225 inches or a “deuce ‘n a quarter”. Today Deuce ‘n a Quarter is a Columbus Ohio based band fronted by the strong voice and wailing harp of Brian Peters. Backed by one of the tightest rhythm sections in Mid-Ohio with Steve Perakis on bass, Andre Scott on drums, Jeffrey Allen on guitar, and John Sipher on keys puts on a show! Their rich and smooth sound of original music treats your favorite songs like an old friend, as they faithfully add to the musical expressions of their many legendary influences. Teamed with Brian’s lyrical narrations, the band fosters the acceptance, even the romanticism of life’s physical and emotional hardships which, after all, is what the blues is all about! Join the party tonight on the Don Moore Party Pier, our All-America City newest performance venues.  The “Party Pier” is right on the Ohio River behind our new Convention Center.  Just steps away, you’ll find Smothers Park where visitors fall in love with the new waterfall feature and the Signature Fountain, designed by the same people who created the Bellagio Fountains in Las Vegas.  Don Moore Automotive team sponsors the entire season where we throw a party every Friday of the summer.
