Brescia University rocks the Labor Day Weekend dance party as they welcome you and their class of 2017 to the riverfront for a Brescia Party tonight. Tonight’s main stage band is The Hiding; brought up on a wide variety of musical influences like The Beatles, Third Eye Blind, Johnny Cash, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Muse, Neil Young and others, The Hiding brings their show to the patio stage. That means you need to bring your dancing shoes! It is major variety in song choice and genre they provide. Your wish is Brescia’s command as we welcome the hottest band in the region to kick off the three-day holiday weekend. The Rockin’ three-day weekend begins at 6:30 as The Hiding steps on stage! UniFirst sets our season finale to the music of one of the most eclectic bands. ”Isomorphix is like making fire. Tonight is the finale of our 11th season of bringing great Southern Gospel Music to Friday After 5. Join us in Cannon Hall inside the RiverPark Center as MC Donnie Dortch presents “The Crossmen”, “Deena Ashley” and “Living By Faith” in an uplifting and entertaining show filled with faith. But there will be no “collection plate” passed around! The show is free thanks to our season-long sponsor (11 years in a row) Glenn Family Services! Tonight’s Theme: “Foot Frenzy”! It’s a special “Brescia Bash” night! Enjoy the newly opened Smother’s Park Riverfront with a special “spray ground” and Lazy Dayz play area, beautiful waterfalls and the Big O Signature Fountain. Your kid’s favorite two mice will be our guests courtesy of TD’s Tuff Decisions. We’ll welcome tonight’s “Pre-unions”: OHS Class of 1994, Owensboro Catholic High Class of 1994 and OHS Class of 1964! We’re going to invite some of them to compete in our Kroger Water Balloon Toss. Winning couple gets a $30 Kroger Gift Card and a towel. “Boscoe France” will set Friday After 5′s newest venue to music at the foot of Frederica Street. John Gillespie -bass, Jimmy Cummings -drums and Boscoe France-guitar are the Boscoe France band. One of the many amenities of the Smothers Park renovation is the giant overlook stage at the foot of Frederica. It’s a perfect venue for enjoying live entertainment with a breathtaking backdrop. The stage area overlooks both the Ohio River, the new waterfall feature and the Signature Fountain, designed by the same people who created the Bellagio Fountains in Las Vegas. Don Moore Automotive team sponsors the entire season where we feature Owensboro’s newest talent! Great entertainment beginning at 7pm and just like Friday After 5, it’s fun and free.
