Brescia University rocks the Labor Day Weekend dance party as they welcome you and their class of 2016 to the riverfront for a Brescia Bash Party tonight.  INSULATED is tonight’s main stage band.  Earlier this season they packed the courtyard with a standing room only performance followed by a huge campaign to bring them to the main stage!  Your wish is Brescia’s command as we welcome the hottest band in the region to kick off the three-day holiday weekend. It all began with a boy playing drums in an “INSULATED” storage room in his parent’s garage to four high school friends playing weekend shows. The band INSULATED includes four Kentucky boys; Coty Burton, Drew Aud, D.J. Brown and Nick Cheek. Tonight, they will include special guest Jim Heep.  INSULATED has been playing gigs in the Kentucky/Indiana area since 2007. With music influences from Eric Clapton, ZZ Top to Jason Aldean. They can rock over 100 cover songs and a few of their own. The Rockin’ weekend begins at 6:30 as Insulated steps up to the main stage!

         UniFirst Stage in the Courtyard

UniFirst sets our season finale to the music of one of the most popular bands we hosted last season, “The Pits”. Rockin’ hard for 29 years, with the best dance, rock and party sounds, you’ll hear music from The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Weezer, The Cars, Kid Rock, Van Morrison, John Mellencamp, KC and the Sunshine Band, Steppenwolf, The Ramones, The Beatles, The Knack, The Rolling Stones and the list goes on……Find yourself surrounded by music in the newly renovated Atmos Energy Courtyard.  Friends. Fun. Free. It’s all thanks to one of Owensboro’s best friends, UniFirst.  Thank you UniFirst for sponsoring the entire Friday After 5 season courtyard entertainment!

SPECIAL ADDITION: You can Help us Help the Help Office!  Tonight only, we will be taking donations of canned goods to donate to Owensboro’s less fortunate served by Owensboro’s Help Office.  We’ll have  a special bin that you may drop off canned goods as you enter the concert venue.  We’ll be delivering the canned goods to the Help Office in Owensboro on Saturday.  Canned food donations are not required for admission.  Glenn Family Services and Friday After 5 wanted to provide this opportunity for you to help those who need it most. 

 Kroger Street Fair

Tonight’s Theme: Mardi Gras! It’s a special “Brescia Bash” night!  Enjoy the newly opened Smother’s Park Riverfront with a special “sprayground” and Lazy Dayz play area, beautiful waterfalls and the Big O Signature Fountain. Your kid’s favorite from “Tiger” and one of his best friends will be our special guest from Cartoon Land courtesy of TD’s Tuff Decisions. We’ll welcome tonight’s “Pre-unions”: Apollo High Class of 1978 and Class of 1983!  We’re going to invite some of them to compete in our Kroger Water Balloon Toss.  Winning couple gets a $30 Kroger Gift Card and a towel.  The Welborn’s kids’ Hula-Hoop Contest is during the band’s break, too.  Friends. Don Moore Overlook Stage

“Boscoe France” will set Friday After 5′s newest venue to music at the foot of Frederica Street.  One of the many amenities of the Smothers Park renovation is the giant overlook stage  at the foot of Frederica.  It’s a perfect venue for enjoying live entertainment with a breathtaking backdrop.  The stage area overlooks both the Ohio River, the new waterfall feature and the Signature Fountain, designed by the same people who created the Bellagio Fountains in Las Vegas.  Don Moore Automotive team sponsors the entire season where we feature Owensboro’s newest talent!   Great entertainment beginning at 7pm and just like Friday After 5, it’s fun and free.
