It’s out-of-the-way and romantic with special lights overhead with the summer stars above as the perfect backdrop. It’s a quiet and romantic venue. Hailing from Austin, Texas, “Roxy Roca” has come a long way in the short time it has existed. 2015 brought with it the release of Roxy Roca’s latest album, Ain’t Nothin’ Fancy, on Stag Records. Recorded at EAR Studio in Austin with producer Lars Goransson at the helm, the record captures the classic sounds reminiscent of Stax, Motown, and Domino Records. One might say the band wears its influences on its sleeve, and any member of the six-piece soul outfit would happily list off the forefathers of soul and funk. Roxy Roca sets our “Summer of Love” to music and the party is on us! Don Moore Automotive sponsors the “Party on the Pier” all summer long! Located right behind the beautiful Owensboro Convention Center, you won’t be dancing near the river….you’ll be partying OVER the river! The summer night is the perfect backdrop with free cornhole games, a tiki bar and world-famous bourbon bar right on site! Join the fun tonight with Roxy Roca, free at Friday After 5′s newest venue! 8pm-11:30pm.
