“Caribou Band” powered by Kenergy and Big Rivers Electric

Watt a night!  Kenergy and Big Rivers Electric power tonight’s “hits and more hits” band “Caribou” at Friday After 5!  They’re setting our “Summer of Love” to music!  “Caribou” is a seven-piece band featuring a full horn section with trumpet, trombone, and sax playing dance favorites by funk artists like Rick James, Earth Wind & Fire and Prince to Maroon 5 and Bruno Mars. Caribou also plays modern country tunes by Luke Bryan, Florida/Georgia Line and Tim McGraw!  Bring your more comfortable dance shoes to the Jagoe Homes Patio stage.  Get ready to make summer memories tonight thanks to our friends that keep the lights on for our region!  Something for everyone at Friday After 5.  No tickets. No wristbands. No kidding.  Friday After 5 is free!  Thank you Kenergy and Big Rivers Electric for all of tonight’s fun!  Caribou plays from 6:30pm-10pm.

King’s Highway’s Bluegrass show is a consistent crowd-pleaser.  Well known for their high energy delivery, they play music the “old-time” way.  Their playlist includes the great songs of Bill Monroe, Flatt & Scruggs, The Osborne Brothers and from the classic entertainers of Bluegrass. Although they all hold “day jobs” they’re out nearly every weekend performing in the tri-state area. They’re also regulars on “The Cumberland Highlanders” TV show.  King’s Highway will be performing a rocks throw from Owensboro’s International Bluegrass Museum.   It all takes place in the cozy and intimate Atmos Energy courtyard.  A summer night set to music.  No cover. No wristbands. No kidding.  Just like Friday After 5,  it free thanks to our sponsor for the entire season, Atmos Energy.  Take King’s Highway’s music to a warm summer evening and you’ve got a romantic night ahead of you.  There’s a reason they call it a summer love.  Courtyard fun begins at 7pm through 10pm.

The Aquaducks have been making waves in and around Music City as a high octane funk and soul band with a live energy that is rarely matched. The Ducks’ first two singles “Nightlife” and “Bill’s Toupée” immediately caught the attention of local radio station Lighting 100, and have continued to receive regular air play. Described by Brooklyn, NY blog Pancakes and Whiskey as “Dripping with enough funk to fill several swimming pools,” The Aquaducks have created a new sound with influences ranging from Earth Wind & Fire and Stevie Wonder to Lettuce and James Brown. The Aquaducks’ song “What’s Goodington” was featured in the movie “Baked in Brooklyn”.  They followed with the release of their debut full length live album “Live at the Beast.” Fans new and old are now able to experience the high energy show that has critics calling them “probably one of the best duck-themed funk bands of all time.” Bring your dancing shoes and see one of the best live bands ever.   2014 kiss frame The Don Moore Party Pier overlooks both the Ohio River near the new waterfall feature and the Signature Fountain, designed by the same people who created the Bellagio Fountains in Las Vegas.  Don Moore Automotive team sponsors the entire season where we feature great bands in a stunning venue!   Great entertainment and just like Friday After 5, it’s fun and free.  8pm-11:30pm

The fun has begun. Tonight, we’re feeding your “addition to outside.”  Outside, where it’s healthy and you and your family are moving!  Tonight, we are everything outdoors!   Be sure to have your 12 or under kid register to win one of two kid’s bikes Walmart is giving away tonight.  Just register.  They pull out two names each week and the kids get to go to Wal-Mart and pick out a bike! Plus we’ll spotlight the kids who compete in our weekly Hula-Hoop contest at 7:45 sponsored by Welborn’s followed by five grown-ups who try to win the Kroger Water Balloon toss.  Winners and losers join together to “Toast the Sunset”, a Friday After 5 tradition for more than 20 years!  It’s the only place where the sun goes down and yet the night warms up!  We’ve invited special guest “Dora the Explorer” courtesy of TDs Tuff Decisions Costumes! The kids will love the huge “”Lazy Dayz” playground near the signature fountains in Smother’s Park.  They can actually climb up a tree from the inside!  Really!  The International Landscape Architect’s Network named it the #1 Jaw Dropping Park in the World!  It’s a resort-quality-on-the-river-fun-filled experience filled with fun and friends.  Just like Friday After 5, it’s free. Thanks Kroger for all of the fun!
