Friday After 5 Announces Search for New Executive Director
June 29, 2020 – Owensboro, KY: The Board of Directors of Friday After 5 announced today they have begun an open search for a new full-time Executive Director.
Given the growth of Friday After 5 over the years and preparing for the 25th Anniversary next year, the board is searching for a strong team leader to take the reins and continue the growth and success of the signature riverfront festival. Working together with their newly established Search Committee, they hope to engage the best candidates available for the position.
“Our growth now requires a full-time Executive Director to lead us into our future,” states Jay Velotta, Friday After 5’s board chair. “It’s an ideal position for a talented, driven individual. Our reputation will provide a great running start for our new Executive Director.”
The Executive Director (ED) position is responsible for overseeing the daily administration, programs, and strategic plan of Friday After 5; they will provide leadership to volunteers and perform other related work as required. Key duties include fundraising, marketing, and community outreach, as well as responsibility for the organization’s consistent achievement of the Friday After 5 mission. This full-time position reports directly to the Board of Directors.
Compensation to commensurate with the candidate’s experience and ability. Ideally, the Executive Director possesses a Bachelor-Degree in a field related to the mission of Friday After 5. Experience in community public event planning and festival programming is highly desirable.

Friday After 5 began in 1997 with four concerts and grew into a 16-week signature riverfront festival for the entire tri-state area, hosting more than 70,000 visitors each season.
